Maggie’s life was filled with suffering until the day she met her ultimate family. She now she can’t stop hugging her masters.
Mary McCraw and her husband Mark had just lost their dog Bear to cancer a few months earlier. They still weren’t sure they wanted to fill that void, but then they met Maggie.
“She melted my heart,” McCraw said. “We had lost our other dog a few months before we met Maggie and in my mind it was just a meeting. At the time, I didn’t think I was ready for a new dog.”
The rescue had a scheduled meet and greet, and Maggie’s charm was too strong for the couple to resist.
“I leaned over to not scare her and within seconds she was in my lap and in my waist,” Mark said. “Her story broke our hearts. Meeting her was love at first sight, an immediate bond. We felt that she was meant to be with us ».
Up until this happy moment Maggie had been neglected and her previous owners had only used her for breeding. Rescue put Maggie in touch with a loving foster family, where she was able to regain her strength. After months of healing she was finally ready for adoption.
