The teacher at Charter School, Tennessee, was very fond of her work, she already had a doctorate. She and her husband could not have children, so she decided to choose this profession to be closer to the children.
She had a very sweet and kind character, everyone loved her, she was the students’ favorite teacher. She always helped everyone and sometimes even took an interest in their personal life in order to understand how she could help them.
One day, she was walking past her class when she saw that one of her students was staring out the window for a long time, and her lunch box was nearby. She immediately guessed that something was wrong with him and was about to ask him when suddenly the school principal called her.
Sandra thought about him all the time and the next day she decided to ask him what had happened, but he wasn’t in class. From the window, she saw that he was going home with a package in his hand. She followed him and saw that the boy was starting to rummage through the trash cans, scooping up leftover food from there.
The boy saw her and started to run, and she didn’t have time to follow him. She went back to school and decided to talk to him the next day. But the next day, he was not in class.
He was nowhere to be found, not even in the trash can where she had seen him the day before. She kept looking for him and spotted him with the same bag in his hand. She was sure he was hiding something serious and wrote to the director that she would not be in class. She took a taxi and followed the boy.
Christmas was near and so was the holidays, so she couldn’t take any other vacations before then, other than a health issue, there couldn’t be any reason for that. So she lied to them saying she was sick.
She asked the taxi driver to slow down and follow the boy, who was walking with a bag in his hand and picking up leftover food from the trash can. She didn’t know why he was doing this and she was very interested. Suddenly the boy entered an alley and she had to get out of the car and follow him on foot.
He stopped in front of an old house, while Sandra looked at him. The boy left his bag and lunch box at home and opened the door from which the boy and girl came out. The girl was older and the boy appeared to be about 5 years old.
Sandra got up and went there when she saw a woman. She had disheveled hair and a stern expression. It was obvious that the children were afraid of her.
She started yelling at them and saying she wouldn’t allow them to leave the house and said they were as useless as their father. She yelled at them, holding their ears and twisting them in a sick way. The poor children were crying and the girl said she was in a lot of pain.
Sandra could no longer look at her, approached her and the smell of alcohol immediately hit her nose. She was very angry with her and said they were in pain, so she would let them go, because it was impossible. And the woman replied that she was no one to integrate into their business, they were her children!
The children escaped from their mother’s arms and ran towards Sandra. The little girl asked him not to leave them with her, and Sandra reassured them that everything would be fine.
She immediately sent the address of the house to her husband and asked him to come, her husband was a policeman in Tennessee. A few minutes passed and he was already there with other work colleagues. They saved the child from her hands and the woman was arrested for child abuse.
They found alcohol and many empty bottles in her home. And Sandra and James took the kids to the police station, and then they took them home. Sandra bathed, fed and dressed them.
The couple decided they wanted to adopt them all and give them a chance at a wonderful life. It was a gift from God to them, they couldn’t give birth to their own children. And their mother lost her parental rights.
Turns out the boy had been running off with leftovers every day on his lunch break the whole time and hadn’t told anyone out of fear.
So, Christmas, they cooked a lot of delicious things and spent the holidays together, they ate delicious dishes and cakes, it was the best Christmas of the children’s lives! They all told each other different stories and laughed a lot, their life became brighter and happier!
