For most of his life, Bobby Humphreys owned three Rottweilers with his wife.
He always laughed when his friends walked their little dogs and never even considered having a little dog like a Chihuahua.
He said he would actually play tricks on any of his friends if he went out with someone who had a small dog. But Bobby’s life took a turn when his 17-year marriage fell apart.
He was heartbroken, fell into a deep depression and even wanted to kill himself. However, his girlfriend Connie refused to leave him and helped him through this dark time.
She showed him what friendship really means. No matter what he needed, she was always there for him. Needless to say, he felt he owed her a lot.
One day, Connie asked Bobby if he would take care of his beloved Chihuahua for a while.
He hesitated because he had met the dog Lady before and she seemed hostile. Not to mention that Humphreys made fun of people like him who had such small dogs.
However, he decided to help her because he felt indebted. His decision saved not only his life, but the lives of 30 Chihuahuas.
When Bobby brought Lady home, the little dog acted like Bobby had never seen her before.
To his surprise, the little chihuahua crawled into his lap, spent time with him, and they quickly became friends. When Connie came to see Bobby and Lady, she was amazed to see them hugging.
From that moment, Bobby fell in love with small dogs. After Lady returned to Connie, Bobby decided to get his own Chihuahua.
He found Kira, a one-year-old puppy who had been rescued from the terrible conditions of his previous owners. He really saved the pup and helped teach him how to love people and trust them again.
Bobby began to bring home more and more Chihuahuas that had difficult beginnings or special needs.
Eventually, he decided to start his passion project, the animal rescue group: Big Guy, Small World Sanctuary.
They rescue Chihuahuas who are living terrible lives, suffering from abuse, starvation, disability, mental issues, and more. back to health and get them out! They just want to help as many puppies as possible!
