12-year-old boy’s dream comes true… His best friend’s family has adopted him…

POSITIVE

Growing up in a nice and loving home is a privilege that many of us take for granted.

Up to a certain age, I was oblivious to the fact that not all children were blessed with parents who adored them.

Indeed, there are millions of children around the world who do not have a warm and caring family. Andrew, a 12-year-old child from Nashville, Tennessee, is an expert on the subject.

According to accounts, he has been in foster care for approximately half of his short life. Well, his luck recently changed when he was adopted.

Andrew was already close friends with another youngster named Joc Gill from the foster family he had lived with for several years.

The fact that the two boys like playing video games and eating pop-tarts together indicates that they are fast friends. Kevin and Dominique Gill, parents of Joc, have always enjoyed having Andrew around.

Imagine, therefore, Andrew’s happiness and amazement when, while walking in the park with Molly Parker (who works at Youth Villages), he was informed that the Gills were adopting him legally.

Andrew stated, “I just rounded the corner and saw everyone.”

They inquired, ‘Would you?’ and I said ‘yes!’”

More than 8,000 children are waiting for a permanent home in the Tennessee Foster System, according to statistics. Thanks to the goodness and compassion of the Gills, there is one less.

“This is my brother, Joc,” Andrew added.

Joc said, “This is my brother, Andrew.”

This type of narrative gives joy to my eyes. I am very grateful for families like the Gills, who have given Andrew a permanent home.
