Jimmy Amisal was just walking around the city, and he had no idea that his life would soon change ․․.
He was walking when he saw a small crowd and decided to approach them. What he saw there changed his life forever.
Suddenly he saw a child in a nearby garbage can and at first he couldn’t believe his eyes.
The 22-year-old quickly approached the child, who was crying loudly and none of the people gathered there even thought of helping him as they thought about him as a cursed one.
Of course, he did not know how the child got there, but he gently took him and carried him home.
After keeping the child overnight, he filed a police report so they could find his parents.
When they visited his home, they asked Amisial if she would be willing to take temporary custody of him, as no one had come forward to claim the child in the meantime.
Of course this shocked him a lot, saying that he needed time to think.
“I had many sleepless nights after that. That’s when my mother reminded me that something happens in life, it’s not a coincidence.
I have always dreamed of doing something that will make me a part of something big. I realized that for me it was that moment,” he said.
So he agreed to take care of the baby and he was also working to legally adopt him.
After that fateful night, he took care of the baby, but his student visa program required her to return to Texas at the end of the holidays. In the end, he decided to leave the child with her mom.
However, during the adoption procedure, he encountered a lot of difficulties, because the cost of adopting a child in his city was up to 40 thousand dollars. It was a lot of money for him, but he was determined!!
In the end, he decided to take a year off to sort it all out and started a campaign to raise money for the baby’s adoption, with a goal of $60,000, but donations totaled more than $80,000. It simply amazed him…
Four years have passed since that day and Emilio the baby feels great in his home, where he feels very happy and loved.
Now Amisial wants to start his own non-profit business with the aim of helping orphans in Haiti.
