Who would have thought that rusty, mundane agricultural machinery could be transformed into a magnificent work of art?

In fact, John Lopez was successful in doing that. Lopez, a former bronze artist, subsequently discovered the adaptability of waste metal.

He believes that metal sculptures have a certain style that exudes a beautiful yet unpolished form of art.

Based in South Dakota and influenced by the American West, Lopez came up with the concept of turning used agricultural machinery into metal sculptures.

His works are very complex and have a sense of movement that nearly makes them appear to be alive.

The pattern, according to Lopez, is his favourite aspect of his designs.

“I just start grabbin’ everything from the pile and welding it, in and if you weld enough of the same item on over and over it generates this really interesting pattern that I’ve never seen in these sorts of works before,” he said.

And I believe that’s what appeals to people. Share with your friends and family to make their day and fill it with love and light.
