The majority of us have never had it easy. We face so many challenges in our quest to realize our goals.
However, on a recent episode of The Voice, UK, one contestant demonstrated that despite her visual impairment, she is capable of realizing her dream of becoming a singer.
Shaka is a pretty woman who is 27 years old and has a smile that can brighten a room. Shaka gave a thrilling performance while singing Basement Jaxx’s “Good Luck.”
The live audience is ecstatic by the brilliant Blind Audition and her superb stage presence. Olly Murs, the judge, and singer, turns the chair just a few seconds into her performance and asks Shaka to join his team.
Shaka, on the other hand, claims that she was blinded by the lights from the stage and had no idea Murs had turned around.
Fitzroy, Shaka’s father, explained to The Voice, UK, that his daughter has congenital nystagmus, which causes her to have a visual impairment.
Like the rest of us, this condition causes the eye’s pupil to constantly shake and become unstable. He is aware, however, that his daughter will never allow her visual impairment to prevent her from pursuing her goals.
During “The Callbacks,” Olly Murs must select one of his team’s initial three contestants. In the semifinals, one of them will sing.
Benjamin Moss is the first contestant, followed by Andres Cruz and Shaka. She sings Bobby Brown’s “Every Little Step,” wowing Murs once more, and advances to the semifinals.
Murs selects “Take My Breath” by The Weeknd for her during the semifinal piano rehearsals. This song surprised Shaka, but she went with her coach’s choice.
Murs wanted her to sing something contemporary. When Shaka shows up for the studio rehearsals, she is ready to face the world once more.
Shaka is asked by Murs to remain composed and calm throughout her performance because he wants her to have complete voice control.
The Weeknd’s “Take My Breath” features Shaka in an incredible performance that both the judges and the audience are impressed by.
Will.i.am. coach “That was powerful, even the way you were stomping and singing & owning the stage, you gave me a vibe of Tina,” Shaka tells her.
Tom thinks that Shaka’s performance is very easy to sing, and he thinks she would. The talented singer is informed by Anne-Marie that she could hear her voice recorded at home.
“That was fantastic,” Murs says. David is selected by Murs for the finals in the end. However, Shaka’s appearance on The Voice, UK is not over; rather, it marks the beginning of a bright future for the talented singer.
