Most people think of parrots as good mimics. Some of them really look like feathered tape recorders.
But some breeds show a high level of intelligence. They talk a lot more than they hear. Check out this video of the parrot in the foreground – he even declares himself a “superstar” when asked.
Here is Einstein, the African gray parrot, putting on a show at the Knoxville Zoo. He is asked to do anything from imitating cars to singing “Happy Birthday”. It’s a fantastic show! He captivated everyone with his answer.
Well, there’s a reason his name is EINSTEIN. He knows so many words, it’s amazing. On the other hand, African gray parrots are one of the most intelligent birds. It would be interesting to see how they talk live.
I like his reactions to the manifestation of emotions, from happiness to boredom. It’s great that it’s part of the Knoxville Zoo. He even gave talks at TED! Yes, yes, this is where people give their motivational speeches!
